The receptionist is at the hub of our daily needs. As a receptionist, you would schedule appointments, answer the phone, welcome clients to the Center, make charts, file charts and paperwork, make recall appointments, make copies, etc. The receptionist may also help provide community information to the clients.
As an advocate you would sit with the client for Peer Counseling sessions. These sessions would include sitting with the client for 30 minutes to one hour, showing them a video and talking to them about it making sure they understand the topic, you will talk to them about their life situations, and help them to figure out the best option for their individual situation. Other services you may provide is helping the client find local services to help with financial situations, housing, WIC and other local services. Peer counselors also give spiritual guidance/prayer when the client is accepting of it.
As a nurse at the center, your duties may include peer counseling, instructing clients on self-administered pregnancy tests, collecting specimens for STI testing, giving the client the results, calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy and notifying the state of positive tests.
